Widget for GeoData.Gov

The GOS (Geospatial One Stop) Dashboard widget allows you to embed Geodata.gov search functions in your website or blog. The widget is an embeddable JavaScript tool that retrieves GeoRSS feeds based on user-defined search parameters. The results appear in a list above a reference map. The Microsoft Bing Map displays the bounding boxes of the GeoRSS feed items as colored coded rectangles. Any feed item can be further inspected by double-clicking a selected result, or using the selection button (the green arrow on top-right of the widget). The selected item information is displayed along with the FGDC “Status Checker” based service status and score. Live data content provided by the GOS Portal, such as WMS or WFS, can be viewed directly with ESRI ArcExplorer, ArcGlobe, or Gaia (function coming soon).

A GeoData.gov Vista/Windows 7 Gadget is also available from The Carbon Project's portal as a free download. You can also watch a preview video of the Gadget in action.
